He attended C.M.S Grammar School, Lagos where he finished with a Grade 1 distinction in his West African School Certificate (W.A.S.C) Examination, winning the best student prizes in Economics and History in the school. OLUSOLA S. EPHRAIM-OLUWANUGA, mni, Notary Public (LLB, B.L, LLM M.A, FCI.Arb (UK), ACIT, MICI.Arb. ACIP ;).2008 international Scholar of International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN) proceeded to the University of Ife now (Obafemi Awolowo University) where he obtained a degree in Law in 1985. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in October 1986. In the course of his Legal sojourn; he had the singular opportunity of working with the firm of Rotimi Williams S.A.N Chambers during the Law office attachment; Segun Demuren & Co., Lagos; and J.A. Oyegoke & Co. His Chambers had close working relations with the Chambers of Afe Babalola, SAN & Co. He founded the firm of O.S. Songonuga & Co. (now renamed O.S. EPHRAIM-OLUWANUGA & CO.) in 1987.
He has given advice on Corporate Governance in many respects. In recognition of his impact in the commercial world, he was a one-time External Examiner in Commercial Law at the Nigerian Law School.
As an Investor in Companies, he is very interested in the Capital market. He was, until recently the Chairman of the lbadan Zone Shareholders Association, the Chairman of the lbadan Zone Shareholders Association, an association involved in the protection of Shareholders’ Rights. He was the past Chairman, of Trans international Bank Plc.. Audit Committee, Con Oil Plc.. and member, Audit committees of First Bank of Nigeria Plc.., National Salt Company of Nigeria Plc.. and UAC Property Development Company Plc.. He has served in several Presidential and Capital Market related committees such as the National Committee of Unclaimed Dividend and the Vision 20-2020 Committee.
Oluwanuga was an Honorable Member Investments and Securities Tribunal (2002-2008), a tribunal established pursuant to the ISA ’99, to decide on dispute emanating from the Capital Markets. He was at this period the Editor-in-Chief of the Investments & Securities Tribunal Law Reports. SOLA OLUWANUGA is an Arbitrator, Mediator and a Negotiator of Commercial disputes etc. He has assisted in resolving various Boardroom conflicts. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (London); Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, a member of Institute of Construction Industry Arbitrators. He is also a Certified Negotiator having acquired the certificate from the Strauss Institute of Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine University School of Law, California, U.S.A. He has been a Speaker, facilitator and panelist in several National and International Conferences.
Oluwanuga has assisted in fine-tuning the code of Corporate Governance of Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria. In recognition of his work in Corporate Governance as a player; participant, and an arbitrator in the field was made an International Scholar of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN, UK) in 2008. This is an organization headquartered in United Kingdom, with leaders in corporate governance from about 45 countries with mission to raise standards of corporate governance worldwide. He is the past Vice Chairman of the Mediation Committee of the International Bar Association.
Oluwanuga is a member of the policy and strategic thinkers of Nigeria, having attended and successfully completed the Senior Executive Course 31 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru in 2009, leading to the award of member of the national institute (mni). Oluwanuga practices law as a litigation lawyer, a member of faculty of Institute of Directors and Chartered Institute of Arbitrator (UK), a seasoned arbitrator, and a transactional solicitor as well as an author.
